Al- Qaryūn Water Spring - the bump site

(The location of the archeological site is closed; but it may be visited by pre- arrangement with Nablus municipality)

In Nablus, there are four water springs. The most important of which may be al-Qaryūn spring which lies in the middle of al-Qaryūn quarter behind at-Tineh mosque. This spring was the main cause for the Romans to choose the location of their town Neapolis where they had built what is believed to be the Nymphaeum; i.e., the building of a water spring. As water is still running in it, Nablus municipality has erected a nearby pump to provide the old city with its pure water.
