Shopping in the old city of Nablus has its own flavor as if the old city is one huge shopping mall in which all kinds of imported goods are mingled with local produce, foodstuffs, and all kinds of spices. The Rafidia suburb extends from the al-'Ailat park area to the location of the new campus of the an-Najah University in the far west. It is considered to be the most active, energetic and lively night-time attraction in Nablus. There is a wide range of shops in this area for all kinds of products, and the shopping centres themselves also include hotels and restaurants. In the street leading to the city of Tulkarm you will find many retail stores specialized in selling home furniture. It extends from Tunis street to the Deir Sharaf circle area in the far west.

For those in need of vehicle repairs, the garages specialized in this profession are located in the eastern side of the city along Amman and al-Quds streets in particular.

In the city there are special markets for selling livestock and poultry. These are held in the eastern part of the city every Thursday and Friday morning respectively. The market specialized for selling birds is located in the eastern taxi cab station yard specifically.
