Cultural Life

Various cultural and musical festivals are held in the city of Nablus throughout the year. However, they are intermittent and not scheduled on specific dates. There are a number of cultural institutions that are active in literary seminars and public lectures. Furthermore, there are programs and clubs for children in a number of cultural centers, particularly during the summer period.

The programs for any of these institutions and clubs can be downloaded from their websites. The Nablus Municipal Public Library is the oldest such library in Palestine. Visitors can enjoy reading in its beautiful garden in the tranquility of nature and the comfort of its tall trees. The library is opposite the Nablus Municipality's Child's Cultural Centre which organizes several cultural and educational programmes for children and the general public at large. With regard to the old city, there are three centers inside it. They are concerned with cultural and heritage activities: The Municipal Community Resources Development Center (MCRC) that is located at Habs Ad-Dam street, The Cultural Heritage Enrichment Centre “CHEC” that is located at as-Salahi street, in addition to The Cultural Center for Memory & Palestinian Narrative, inside Kan’an soap factory.
