The main currency used in Nablus and throughout Palestine is the New Israeli Shekel (NIS). Traders deal with American dollars (US$) and the Jordanian dinar (JD) as well. Several licenced bureau de change shops are located in the city.  Credit cards cannot be used in a large number of shops but are accepted in some restaurants and hotels. Visitors can take advantage of the large number of ATMs located across the city to withdraw cash. There is a number of Automatic Teller Machines at the entrance to the central commercial compound in the main square area as well as in all banks. The locations of the various banks and the ATMs are indicated on the attached map.
